Points West Design Works is a Colorado based architecture practice focused on the power of design to do good.

With experience crossing a wide variety of project types and design tasks, Points West offers large firm problem solving across scales and disciplines at a local-level of practice. By leveraging strong relationships across our design community, we can assemble and lead teams with agility and scale that’s right-sized to each project.

By staying nimble, we can offer high end design without the high overhead allowing us to practice our values and prioritize the purpose and impact of design for mission based, education, and community-focused clients.

Dominic Weilminster | AIA, LEED AP

Principal, Owner

Dominic is an award-winning architect, proud dad, lover of mountains, and occasional burro-racer. His professional background includes leading design across a broad range of project types, from large-scale master planning to significant institutional and commercial development projects in Colorado and around the globe.

Dominic is a strategic thinker adept at making smart decisions early to help projects gain momentum and ensure long-term success. He loves weaving constraints with context and client aspirations to create designs that hold meaning and solve problems with simple elegance.

Prior to founding Points West, Dominic led the 100-person Colorado practice of global design firm, Stantec and served as Design Director for the Western US. A Colorado native, his passion for bringing clients along on the journey to create great places ultimately brought him back to his roots to focus on designing authentic, well-crafted and loved places here in the Mountain West.
